Students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering who won the video competition about adapters
On August 17, the summer school for adapters started at the Educational Center for Project-Based Learning of the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Elena Alexandrova She welcomed the future adapters who had passed a complex and thorough selection and reminded the students that they are becoming not only assistants but also guides into the new world for freshmen, with all the variety of opportunities it offers to young people.
“The student environment is a special ecosystem for development. Your task is to support first-year students during their adaptation to university studies and to help them develop an understanding of the opportunities for personal, educational, and social growth,” the vice-rector noted.
Elena Borisovna awarded the winners of the video contest on the topic “Who is an adapter?” Branded gifts were given to the adapters of the Faculty of Construction.
Future mentors were also welcomed by the director of the Project-Based Learning Educational Center Inna Sukhanova. Inna Ivanovna spoke about the center’s opportunities available to all students, including freshmen. “The center has existed for over a year, and we are creating conditions for the creative and professional growth of students together with our partners. We look forward to welcoming both mentors, freshmen, and teachers in the new academic year,” she noted.
Project Leader of “Adapters SPbGASU” David Gogoladze he talked about the training, explained which questions the future assistants of freshmen will discuss with representatives of various university departments, mentors, and invited speakers. The adapters will have theoretical lessons and educational practice.
As a warm-up, the intellectual club “Debates” held a debate game for the adapters. Students discussed the role of the adapter and student life in the lives of young people.
The adapters shared their impressions of the first day of the summer school. Amelia Amirova, A student of the automobile and road faculty said: “From the opening of the summer school, I primarily expected to meet our adapters after the summer holidays; I really liked the opening itself, there were interesting debates and topics on them.” Aleksandra Suchkova, A student of the faculty of architecture noted: “The opening of the summer school was solemn and informative, and we have already learned a lot: the university administration representatives who spoke told us about the tasks ahead of us, and in the practical part, the debates taught us to justify and defend our point of view.”
