The Museum of Moscow invites history enthusiasts to a lecture-presentation by a guide-translator and tour guide Oksana Artyushina. The event’s topic will be the Vvedenskoye Cemetery, considered one of the most unusual places in the capital.

Originally, it was non-Orthodox: Catholics, Lutherans, Anglicans, and members of other denominations were buried here. Now it is not just a necropolis, but essentially an open-air sculpture museum, where one can find marble angels, crypts, as well as tombstones with unusual symbols, including an aviation propeller.

Until recently, this place did not have a systematic guide. However, Artyushina’s book fills this gap: it organizes the information and outlines routes for thematic walks around the necropolis.

At the meeting, the author invites guests to take a walk along the shady alleys of the Vvedenskoye Cemetery, she will talk about the cemetery and answer questions. Guidebooks will also be available for purchase, and autographs can be obtained.
