Deputy Director of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan Jamshid Toshev stated in an interview with Xinhua news agency that China consistently remains an important driving force behind the SCO’s development, helping to establish the organization as a significant platform for strengthening peace and development through promoting the “Shanghai Spirit,” deepening practical cooperation, and advocating the ideas of multilateralism.

He emphasized that humanitarian cooperation within the SCO is shaped through the development of collaboration in education, personnel training, cultural exchanges, and youth contacts. “This is especially important because the stability of an international organization depends not only on the creation of appropriate institutions but also on the depth of trust between the peoples of the member states.”
Toshev stated that China’s consistent efforts help the SCO member states strengthen cohesion, deepen practical cooperation, and enhance their ability to confront new challenges. He believes that the SCO member states not only share the fruits of development and common opportunities but also face common challenges and bear joint responsibility, and that the concept proposed by China of building a community with a shared future for mankind defines the direction of the SCO’s future development.
