The 10th Open Moscow Festival of Equestrian Art and Sport has opened at VDNH. It will run until August 29 at the Center of National Equestrian Traditions and will bring together several disciplines: dressage, show jumping, and trick riding. The festival is organized with the support of the city administration. Department of Sports within the framework of the project “Summer in Moscow”.

From riding a pony to freestyle trick riding

The main competitive program of the festival began on August 19. Adult athletes, as well as juniors and children, perform in the large equestrian arena of the Center of National Equestrian Traditions at VDNH. On August 20, the arena will be occupied by riders aged from four to sixteen. The day will be dedicated to dressage on ponies. Special tests are provided for beginner athletes, as well as exercises with longeing and a handler.

The grand opening of the anniversary festival is scheduled for August 21. After that, pony show jumping competitions will take place. Young athletes aged nine to sixteen will have to overcome courses of varying difficulty with obstacles ranging from 40 to 60 centimeters in height. The winners will earn the right to compete in the festival’s “Spasskaya Tower” trophy competitions.

The next day, August 22, more experienced riders will enter the large equestrian arena. They have routes prepared for show jumping emphasizing cleanliness and agility, as well as ones involving re-jumps.

On August 28, the program on trick riding will continue the festival. On August 29, competitions for children’s trick riding will be organized. Riders will be divided into two age groups: D-1 — from seven to 10 years old and D-2 — from 11 to 13 years old.

The jubilee festival is designed not only for professional athletes. Interactive activities have been prepared for guests, and the program will allow you to spend the whole day at the venue with the entire family.

The festival is organized as part of the project “Summer in Moscow”. This is the main event of the season, which has already become a good tradition and an integral part of the capital’s life.
