More than 32 thousand Muscovites have started to relocate according to renovation program since the beginning of the year. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.
“Participants in the renovation program are relocating to apartments with improved layouts. The yards of new buildings are landscaped and well-maintained, and the first floors remain non-residential and will be used for opening shops, cafes, leisure centers, pickup points, and other service industry facilities. Since the beginning of 2026, the relocation process has already covered more than 32 thousand Muscovites. At the same time, the newcomers remain in their districts with familiar social infrastructure. Exceptions are the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts, as well as Zelenograd, where relocation is carried out within the district. In total, since the start of the program, relocation has already covered about 290 thousand city residents,” said Vladimir Efimov.
Almost two-thirds of Muscovites who began moving into new buildings under the renovation program since the beginning of the year live in three districts. In the southeastern part of the capital, the process affected more than 8,900 people, in the eastern part — almost 5,900, and in the southwestern part — over 4,200 participants.
As clarified Ekaterina Solovyova, Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the city Department of City Property, helps to speed up the processing of documents for new housing using a super service “Moving under the Renovation program” on the portal mos.ru. With its help, you can book an apartment inspection online, upload copies of personal and title documents for contract draft preparation, and choose the date and time for signing it. To avoid queues when concluding contracts and make the move more convenient, resettlement to large housing complexes is organized in stages.
“This year, the relocation process covered residents of over 185 old houses located in all administrative districts of the capital. The most such buildings are in the south-east of Moscow — more than 50 objects of the old housing stock. Participants in the program move into apartments with improved layouts and finished interiors, completed according to the program standards. This allows immediate occupancy without spending time and effort on additional repairs. The city takes care of the relocation process itself and assists all participants by providing free transportation and movers. To take advantage of this
service, it is only necessary to submit an application on the mos.ru website or at the resettlement information center,” added the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the city’s Department of Urban Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky.
Houses built under the renovation program are designed with the principles of a barrier-free environment in mind, making them convenient for residents with limited mobility and families with young children.
The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It involves the resettlement of 5,176 buildings. As Sergey Sobyanin emphasized, about millions of Muscovites will move into new apartments. The Mayor of Moscow also instructed to increase the pace of implementation of the program in two times.
