Jiuquan, August 19 /Xinhua/ — On Wednesday morning, China launched the reusable carrier rocket “Zhuque-3” /Zhuque-3/, successfully bringing back its first stage to land. This is the first time the first stage of a Chinese carrier rocket has been successfully landed onshore.
The “Zhuque-3-Y2” carrier rocket launched at 7:35 a.m. /Beijing time/ from the Dongfeng commercial space innovation pilot zone in northwest China.
The landing of the rocket’s first stage on land took place as planned; the mission was completely successful.
Earlier, on July 10, China managed to recover the first stage of the Long March-10B carrier rocket on a sea platform.
The current mission marked the first successful controlled landing on land of a rocket launcher’s first stage using deployable landing legs, signifying a significant breakthrough for the country’s reusable rocket technology.
