The associations “Kryukovo/Zelenograd — for Donbass!” and “Mother’s Protection” regularly support the fighters of the special military operation (SMO) and hospital staff. They have collected and sent over 10 tons of humanitarian aid and about 4.3 thousand protective items to the SMO zone.

Volunteers manufacture camouflage equipment, gather humanitarian aid, and deliver building materials for the arrangement of military positions.

The group “Kryukovo/Zelenograd — Donbass!” began its activities in March 2023 at the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the 16th microdistrict. During this time, the participants have made about 14,000 trench candles, and the total volume of aid they have sent has exceeded 10 tons.

Batches weighing 200–300 kilograms are delivered two to three times a month to specific military units. In addition to food, medicine, and heaters, activists also deliver construction materials for arranging dugouts. For hospitals, they collect bedding and food.

“I keep the words of gratitude from the guys. It warms my heart when I reread these lines over a cup of tea. They inspire and give strength to continue our work,” said Olga Polyakova, the head of the association.

Since November 2022, the group “Maternal Shield” has been active at the Church of the Holy Blessed Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky in the 14th microdistrict of Zelenograd. Over several years, its participants have created about five thousand items, including more than 1,800 camouflage nets, over a thousand protective suits and poncho-cap coveralls, as well as more than 1,400 anti-drone curtains.

“Today, volunteer groups operate in almost all districts of Zelenograd. Anyone can join any of them, as even the smallest help on the front line is never superfluous,” said Natalia Tsekhmister, the team leader.

To become a participant in the association “Kryukovo/Zelenograd — to Donbass!”, you need to come to the Church of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh during working hours — from 08:00 to 20:00. To assist the craftswomen of the “Mother’s Protection” team, please contact the church shop of the Alexander Nevsky Church from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00.

In the Zelenograd administrative district, there are other organizations that assist participants in the special military operation. Among them are “Zastava Zelenograd,” the “Zelmaskirovka” community, and the humanitarian mission “Hope!” Since the beginning of the special operation, more than 120 humanitarian convoys have been sent from Zelenograd. Activists have produced 75,000 square meters of camouflage nets. Aid has been delivered to more than 260 military units.
