About four thousand people in Solntsevo have signed contracts for housing in new buildings since the summer of 2021, when resettlement began in the district under renovation program. This is more than half of the district’s residents who are planned to be relocated, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.
“In the summer of 2021, the city offered comfortable housing proposals in a new building on Shchorsa Street to residents of three old five-story buildings on Borovsky Lane. The following year, these buildings were completely vacated. Later, four more residential complexes were built in the area for participants of the program. The number of buildings affected by relocation grew to 24, including all residents of 17 of them who completed paperwork for new apartments and moved into modern residential complexes. In total, nearly four thousand Muscovites have become city housing owners in Solntsevo—over half of all renovation program participants in the district,” said Vladimir Efimov.
The city is relocating Muscovites to new buildings constructed near their old homes. This makes the move more comfortable and allows them to avoid being assigned to another clinic, re-registering children for kindergartens and schools, and searching for suitable shops and household services.
“This year, residents of nine old housing blocks in Solntsevo have started inspecting apartments in new buildings under the renovation program. Since January, about 1,600 people have signed contracts for new housing. This is the highest annual figure for the entire duration of the program in the district, although 2026 is not over yet. Specialists from the Department of City Property, who work at the Resettlement Information Center, assist in signing apartment contracts,” noted

In the Solntsevo district, 43 old houses are planned to be resettled under the renovation program. About 7,400 residents will move to new apartments.

One more house is located on Shchorsa Street, Glavmosstroy Street, and Borovsky Passage. The entrances have elevators, concierge rooms, and storage rooms for strollers and bicycles. To make the move under the renovation program even more comfortable, the city provides loaders and a vehicle free of charge.
The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about a million Muscovites and provides for the relocation of 5,176 houses. Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin instructed to increase the pace of the renovation program implementation in two times. He also reported that in the seven months of 2026, 734 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned under renovation — a record for nine years of implementation programs.
