In Russia, extensive work continues on creating a network of modern university campuses. One such project is being implemented at the Oryol State University named after I.S. Turgenev. The campus construction is over 50% complete. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“The President has set the task of forming a network of 40 world-class university campuses by 2036. Such a program will provide a multiplicative effect: it will attract talented youth, improve the quality of personnel training, strengthen the connection between science and the economic sector, and increase the investment attractiveness of the regions. Part of the facilities is already ready, and work continues. Among other sites, at the Oryol State University named after I.S. Turgenev, a complex with a total area of about 60 thousand square meters is being constructed, which will become a common educational and scientific space for students and teachers of six universities in the city of military glory. Its construction is currently 51% complete. In the educational and laboratory building, specialists from the PPK “Unified Customer“ have completed half of the glazing, and the overall construction readiness of this building is 45%. At the same time, dormitories for 1,500 places are being erected, where the volume of work completed has exceeded 60%,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that an important part of the campus will be the sports infrastructure. A new football field with artificial turf and stands accommodating 500 spectators will appear on its territory. Currently, interior walls and partitions are being constructed on the sports facility, which is more than 1,500 square meters in area.

The five-story educational and laboratory building is designed as a multifunctional center. It will house lecture halls and research laboratories, a modular library, a copying center, a cafeteria, areas for independent work, and utility and service rooms. This solution will transform the building into a unified environment for study, science, and everyday communication.

“The total area of the new five-story building is over 27 thousand square meters. About 2 thousand students will study there. The building will house a prototyping and reengineering center, zones for independent work, educational and laboratory rooms, and an auditorium with a foyer. Finishing of the premises and installation of elevator equipment are also being carried out,” said Karen Oganesyan, General Director of the IPC “Unified Customer.”

In addition, specialists from the PPK “Unified Customer” are constructing five more campuses in Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Smolensk, and Moscow.
