The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on Thursday called on Israeli authorities to assist Palestinian families in the West Bank who have been prevented by settlers from leaving their homes for several days. According to reports, the United States is trying to help end the siege that began on Sunday. In a statement, the OHCHR said settlers may have cut off electricity and water to Palestinian families. The office noted that these actions, “supported or tolerated by Israel as the occupying power,” are aimed at displacing Palestinians from their land.
