Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Sihasak Phuangketkeow.
The parties discussed trade and economic cooperation between the countries, including in the energy sector.
It was noted that mutual trade between the countries is stable. In 2025, the volume of trade turnover increased by 2.3%. This trend continued in the current year: in five months, trade growth of 22% was recorded. The volume of trade in services is also increasing, and active work is underway in the field of investment cooperation.
“Thailand is Russia’s oldest partner in Southeast Asia. Next year marks the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Thailand. Our ties are based on traditions of mutual respect and trust, and a shared desire to activate cooperation across a wide range of areas,” emphasized Alexander Novak.
In conclusion, Alexander Novak invited Xisakha Phuangketkeo and Thai partners to participate in the IX International Forum “Russian Energy Week,” which will be held in Moscow at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall from October 14 to 16, 2026.
