The solemn opening of the second session of the educational and tourist program “University Sessions” took place at the State University of Management. The participants of the country’s first management university were welcomed by Vice-Rector Dmitry Yuryevich Bryukhanov.
Dmitry Bryukhanov began the conversation by talking about the uniqueness of the university:
“The University of Management is one of the few universities that has a campus system setup. On our university grounds, there are many buildings, facilities, and other premises where students can live and study.” He also noted that the State University of Management is currently constructing its third dormitory, which will be designed in a more modern format.
The vice-rector paid special attention to the project-based approach that permeates the entire academic life of the university.
“For us, Thursday is project day. At this time, the students and teachers work on project development. One of our tasks is to try to simulate your future professional activities within the framework of project work,” emphasized the speaker.
During the open dialogue, participants asked the questions that concerned them: they learned where Dmitry Yuryevich himself studied, which projects students have already implemented within the framework of project-based learning, as well as more about the university’s structure and educational programs. The students showed interest in the responsibilities of the vice-rector and how the administrative life of the university is organized.
Dmitry Bryukhanov also spoke about the key partners of GUU, among which Sberbank holds a special place.
Let us recall that the State University of Management has been conducting “University Shifts” for five years. This year, our university has already hosted the first shift and is currently welcoming the second shift of high school students from all across Russia.
Over the next 10 days, participants will experience full immersion in student life. A rich program has been prepared for them, which includes:
- lectures, master classes, and workshops by professors and scholars of the State University of Management;
- introduction to in-demand professions and educational trajectories;
- tours of laboratories, research centers, and university partners;
- a vivid cultural and sports component.
The project involves more than 100 leading universities in Russia and is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Movement of the First, Rosmolodezh, and SBER.
The second shift has just begun, and its participants have already taken the first step toward feeling like part of the big team at GUU.
