Vice-Rector for Youth Policy of SPbGASU Elena Alexandrova participated in the introductory seminar-meeting for coordinators of volunteer activities at universities. The event took place at the Knowledge Center “Mashuk” in Pyatigorsk.

Representatives from 139 universities across Russia developed roadmaps for the development of volunteer and public activities in universities. The main topics of discussion were student involvement in volunteer and public activities, mechanisms of interaction between university management, specialized departments, and volunteer infrastructure, as well as supporting universities in the development of volunteer and social activities.

Seminar participants proposed to enshrine necessary decisions in local acts, enhance media coverage, conduct strategic sessions, round tables, opportunity fairs, and create collections of best practices.

Based on these proposals, it is planned to develop a unified plan to achieve the national target indicator — at least 45 percent of young people engaged in volunteer activities by 2030 — and to implement the initiative “Goodness is the norm of life | universities.”

Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation took part in defending the roadmaps as a commission member Olga Petrova.
