Beijing, August 12 /Xinhua/ — In the city of Dunning bordering Russia /Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China/, a project is actively underway to build a cross-border intelligent logistics hub and an international assembly and distribution center for goods, aimed at expanding trade and economic cooperation between China and Russia, the Dunning city government reported on its website.
It is reported that the above-mentioned project, with a total investment volume of 250 million yuan (approximately 37 million USD), started in 2026 and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2027. The project plans to construct three main buildings intended for goods assembly and distribution, intelligent warehousing, inspection, and quarantine. The Chinese news agency “Zhongguo Xinwen She,” citing data from the Dungning checkpoint, reported that in January-June 2026, the total volume of exports and imports through this checkpoint reached 6.03 billion yuan, increasing by 1.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
To meet the growing demands for the development of cross-border trade, the Dunnin checkpoint completed the modernization and transformation of cargo inspection facilities, resulting in an increase in the annual designed cargo transportation volume through this checkpoint from 1 million to 1.7 million tons. -0-
