On the eve of Physical Culture Day, which is celebrated this year on August 8, it is important to note that quality infrastructure is necessary for the accessibility of sports. It is developing thanks in part to various financial support mechanisms. Thus, under the programs of infrastructure budgetary (IBK), special treasury (SKK), and treasury infrastructure (KIK) loans, 15 facilities have been built and renovated to date. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“Creating modern sports infrastructure is an important part of the work to increase the accessibility of physical culture and sports for residents of the regions. The construction of new sports complexes and related facilities creates conditions for year-round training and the holding of competitions at various levels. Thanks to the infrastructure loan program, regions have the opportunity to build and renovate sports facilities — from multifunctional halls to swimming pools and stadiums. This directly affects the nation’s health and creates conditions for nurturing new generations of athletes. To date, 15 such facilities have been commissioned under the program,” said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that among the completed facilities are the reconstructed Torpedo Stadium with a new physical culture and wellness complex featuring a universal hall in Lyubertsy, Moscow Region, the republican Spartak Stadium in Vladikavkaz, and a multifunctional sports hall in the ‘Sportivny’ microdistrict in Yakutsk.
The CEO of the Territorial Development Fund, Vasily Kupyzin, noted that sports facilities change the appearance of cities and villages, becoming points of attraction for children and adults.
“With the involvement of infrastructure loans, the construction and renovation of 5 more sports facilities continues. Among them are the reconstruction of the open stadium in the city of Kem in the Republic of Karelia and the construction of a swimming pool in Murmansk, a fitness and wellness complex with a pool on the territory of Dobrograd in the Vladimir region, the Avangard stadium in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, as well as a sports and recreation center under construction in the Krasnoflotsky district of Khabarovsk with a total area of about 1.6 thousand square meters,” said Vasily Kupyzin.
The curator of the infrastructure loan programs is the Ministry of Construction, and the operator is the Territorial Development Fund.
