Youth Day, Siberian Sports Week, and the series of events of the #ForwardTowardsRSD project will become part of the International Sports Forum “Russia – a Sporting Power” for the first time, which will be held in Krasnoyarsk from October 21 to 23.
“At the plenary session of the forum ‘Russia – a sports power,’ our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin emphasized the importance of sport as a universal tool for developing a person’s physical, creative, and spiritual potential. The decision to hold Youth Day resonates with these words: it is precisely in youth that values and habits for life are formed. A whole range of measures within the national project ‘Youth and Children’ helps foster interest in sports. Modern infrastructure is being created, student sports clubs are supported, competitions and contests are held, and much more. I am confident that Youth Day will help participants find like-minded people and give an impetus to projects in the field of sports and a healthy lifestyle,” stated Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Sports Forum “Russia – a sports power.”
“This year at the ‘Russia – Sporting Power’ forum, the Youth Day will be held for the first time. We expect that the young people who participate will grow together with the forum and, after some years, return to its platform already as heads of sports organizations, authors of their own projects, and industry leaders. This interaction between generations helps preserve the best traditions of domestic sports while simultaneously shaping its future,” said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the International Sports Forum ‘Russia – Sporting Power.’
New formats and preparations for the forum were discussed at a meeting of the regional organizing committee, chaired by the governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Mikhail Kotyukov. The meeting took place at the National Center “Russia” in Krasnoyarsk Krai.
“The ‘Russia – Sporting Power’ forum sets a very high standard, established over the years of its existence, and for the Krasnoyarsk Territory it is important not just to meet this level, but to bring something of its own to the program. A week before the forum, the Siberian Sports Week will take place, where we will gather all the rich sporting traditions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. It is especially important that the key participants and sports stars have the opportunity to interact with children who are now taking their first steps in sports. This will be supported by a large educational and enlightening program, as well as Youth Day,” emphasized Mikhail Kotyukov.
One of the central elements of the new program will be the #ForwardTowardsRSD project, which will unite a series of meetings with outstanding representatives of domestic sports. The first event in the series was a lecture-dialogue with three-time Olympic champion Alexander Karelin, organized with the support of the party project «Choice of the Strong».
“Krasnoyarsk Krai has unique sports traditions that have been formed thanks to the work of many generations of representatives from different regions and nationalities of our country. This diversity, respect for mentors, and striving for high results create a special sports environment, which the forum ‘Russia – a sports power’ will be able to showcase. It is important to involve youth in this conversation. This will be a significant contribution to the upbringing of the younger generation and to the preparation of strong citizens for our state,” noted Alexander Karelin.
The head of the Directorate for the Organization of Sports and Entertainment Events of the Roscongress Foundation, Darya Silayeva, thanked the Krasnoyarsk Territory for the high level of preparation for the forum and the involvement of the regional team in solving organizational issues.
“The forum is growing and developing, with new relevant programs emerging. Together with the Ministry of Sport of Russia and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, we have all the opportunities to take another step towards expanding the forum’s format. What is important is that the new projects make it interesting not only for the professional community but also for the youth, the residents of the region, and everyone interested in sports,” said Darya Silaeva, Head of the Directorate for the Organization of Sports and Entertainment Events at the Roscongress Foundation.
The registration for the forum was launched at the SPIEF. You can register to participate in the forum at official website.
