The government approved the composition of the subcommittee, which will become a permanent headquarters for the development of digital platforms. It is headed by the Deputy Prime Minister – Chief of the Government Office Dmitry Grigorenko. The Deputy Chairman of the subcommittee is appointed Minister of Economic Development Maksim Reshetnikov.

The subcommission also included the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadaev, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, the head of the Federal Labor and Employment Service Mikhail Ivankov, as well as the heads of 11 other federal agencies.

Russia is conducting systematic work to improve the regulation of the platform economy. The headquarters was created with the aim of timely response to emerging challenges and ensuring the development of coordinated solutions in the field of platform economy development.

Currently, a number of legislative initiatives are being developed aimed at supporting Russian sellers on marketplaces. In particular, it is proposed to regulate the provision of discounts at the expense of sellers, as well as measures to level the playing field for Russian and foreign sellers are being worked out.

It is planned that these and a number of other proposals, which will be included in the package of amendments to the law on the platform economy, will be considered at the very first meeting of the government task force on the development of digital platforms. The task force will operate on a permanent basis.
