Moscow, August 2 /Xinhua/ — The conference on trade and economic cooperation between Jiangxi Province /East China/ and Russia was held on Sunday at the Greenwood business park in Moscow. The purpose of the event was to discuss cooperation paths and sign mutually beneficial agreements between representatives of Chinese and Russian businesses, strengthen trade and economic ties, humanitarian exchanges, and interaction between the regions of the PRC and the Russian Federation.

In his speech, Peng Feng, deputy head of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Commerce, recalled that hundreds of years ago, tea and porcelain from Jiangxi Province were delivered to the Volga basin. “We believe that our friendship is like the Yangtze and Volga rivers – it flows swiftly and continuously forward,” he emphasized. Peng Feng called the exchange of experience between Chinese and Russian specialists an important task, noting Russia’s strong potential in fundamental sciences, high level of heavy machinery manufacturing, and deep innovative traditions.

Peng Feng expressed hope that the conference would become a new starting point, enabling the practical interaction between Jiangxi Province and Russian partners to be elevated to a new level and to write a new chapter in mutually beneficial cooperation. According to him, deepening cooperation in the fields of advanced technologies and scientific-technical innovations, as well as promoting the development of bilateral trade and transport corridors, will ensure the high-quality development of both countries.

As noted by the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan to the Russian Federation, Fannur Garifullin, trade turnover between Tatarstan and regions of China is actively developing and has currently exceeded 3 billion US dollars. In 2024, in the city of Kazan, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the government of Tatarstan and the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province in trade and economic, scientific and technical, social, and cultural and humanitarian spheres. F. Garifullin highlighted the enormous potential of bilateral cooperation and invited partners from Jiangxi to participate in the international forum “ROSTKI: Russia and China — mutually beneficial cooperation,” which will be held on August 16-19 in Kazan.

“Today’s meeting will mark the beginning of new partnerships, new contracts, and new success stories. Russia is interested in developing industrial cooperation, technological exchange, and mutual investments that will contribute to the development of the economies of both countries,” said Maxim Zakharov, member of the General Council of the all-Russian public organization “Business Russia.”

“Our task is to ensure that the friendship between our peoples is reflected in joint ventures, innovative projects, new industries, and mutual trust between entrepreneurs,” he added.
