From Transportation Systems to 3D Construction: Which Skills College Students Demonstrated at the High-Tech Championship

In Moscow, the results of the regional stage of the high technologies championship were summed up. This year, the competition was devoted to the most promising and in-demand areas of the transport industry. Contestants demonstrated professional skills in 18 advanced competencies — from servicing high-speed trains to information security of autonomous transport systems. The winners of the high technologies championship were 54 students from the capital’s colleges. Among the winners, 18 participants won gold medals, 18 — silver, and 18 — bronze. “More than 1.7 thousand students from capital colleges submitted applications to participate in the regional stage of the championship of high technologies. Each of the 114 finalists showed themselves as a true professional. Participants worked with real equipment in modern workshops and laboratories of 12 capital colleges and solved tasks that were as close as possible to the conditions of modern production,” noted the department’s press service.

VMoscow Technological College named after I.A. Liyachevwere engaged in diagnostics, repair and maintenance of vehicles with alternative energy sources. The students demonstrated the ability to detect faults in high-voltage systems of electric vehicles, carry out diagnostics of battery accumulators, as well as repair power unit components.

At the siteMoscow Transport CollegeYoung specialists competed in the maintenance of high-speed trains, performing preventive maintenance and repair of units using automated monitoring systems and specialized equipment.

Knowledge of operators of additive construction complexes for transport infrastructure was tested inMoscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning, where tasks related to modeling, management, and control of 3D construction processes for the creation and repair of roads, bridges, and other transport infrastructure facilities were resolved.

“I really wanted to show the best result and I’m glad I succeeded. The gold medal is not only a pride but also confirmation that hard work pays off. I gained not only valuable practical and competitive experience but also became much more confident in my abilities. Thanks to my mentors for their support and belief in me. Ahead is the final, where there will be even more interesting tasks and opportunities for growth,” shared Yulia Bushueva, a student of the Moscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning, winner of the “Operator of Additive Building Complexes for Transport Infrastructure” competition.

Gold medal holders will compete in the final of the High Technology Championship, which will take place in September in Veliky Novgorod.

The capital’s team has become the leader in the overall medal standings for the third year in a row. Last year, Muscovites won 12 medals: two gold, four silver, and six bronze. The participants competed in 14 disciplines — from cyberimmune autonomy to intellectual agri-production systems.

The Championship of High Technologies is part of the All-Russian Championship movement for professional skills “Professionals,” organized with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia. The competitions are held within the framework of the federal project “Professionalism” of the national project “Youth and Children.” The federal operator is the Institute for the Development of Professional Education. The regional stage is conducted by the Moscow Center for the Development of Professional Education of the capitalDepartment of Education and Science.
