About 50 newly delivered NefAZ-5299 buses have arrived in the capital. Soon the vehicles will be deployed on suburban routes as part of the “Moscow — Region” project. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.Maksim Liksutov.

“Following the instruction of Sergey Sobyanin, we continue to actively develop the network of routes to the nearest Moscow region. To improve the quality of passenger service in the near future, we will launch new NEFAZ-5299 buses on the roads. In total, 233 vehicles of this model will be added to Mosgortrans’s fleet for suburban trips this year,” added Maksim Liksutov.

The bus has already proven itself successful on the city route. About two thousand new buses are already operating in the Mosgortrans park. Among their advantages are: 31 seats, a passenger capacity of up to 109 people, a low-floor cabin, a folding apparatus and a special zone for passengers with reduced mobility, the presence of a modern climate system and adaptive lighting of the cabin.

Development of the project “Moscow — region”

The “Moscow — Region” project started operating last year. At that time, 25 active suburban routes operating in the northwest and west directions were included in the Moscow transport system. This became possible thanks to an agreement between the governments of Moscow and the Moscow Region.

As a result of this route, standards of Moscow transport have been implemented, including convenient movement intervals and schedules, modern rolling stock, and professional drivers. Buses are adapted for transporting passengers in wheelchairs, as well as bicycles and strollers. By the end of this year, it is planned to open more than 50 additional routes.

The appearance of adjacent interregional routes will become an impulse for the further development of transport infrastructure in the Moscow region. For example, dedicated lanes will be equipped, new transport hubs will be created and existing ones reconstructed. Modern pavilions will appear at stops. In addition, various types of urban transport will run on the routes for daily trips from the Moscow suburbs to Moscow and back.

You can pay for the ride with a “Troika” card. You can purchase and top it up at the ticket office and ticket vending machines of the Moscow Metro. Topping up the “Troika” card is also available online through mobile applications.“Moscow Metro”or“Moscow Transport”. Then you need to activate remote top-up on any validator inside the bus salon.

By 2028, at least 30 percent of the existing suburban routes are planned to be included in the Moscow transport system.

In accordance with the goals of the national project“Infrastructure for Life”In Moscow, great attention is paid to the modernization of social and communal infrastructure, including the increase in the number of convenient city transport routes and the updating of the rolling stock.
