The official website has published the business program of the XI Eastern Economic Forum, which will take place in Vladivostok from September 1–4 at the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The main theme of the forum is “The Far East – Development for the Benefit of People.” The organizer is the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
“The Eastern Economic Forum, held on the instructions of the head of state, has become one of the effective tools for the development of the Far East. The forum remains a key platform for developing breakthrough solutions, concluding large investment agreements that improve the lives of thousands of Far East residents and Northerners. The Far East mortgage and the “Hectare” program, a large-scale project for the renovation of 25 Far Eastern cities, rental housing construction programs, and the creation and development of new preferential regimes all began with the EEF. Largely thanks to the EEF, almost 3,000 investment projects are being implemented in the Far East with an invested volume of 6.5 trillion rubles; more than 1,100 enterprises have been launched, and over 180,000 jobs have been created. I am confident that this forum will be as fruitful as the previous ones,” said Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The business program will include more than 70 sessions, divided into five thematic tracks: “Living and working in the Far East,” “Mechanisms for attracting private investments,” “The Far East – a hub of international cooperation,” “Technologies of the present and future,” “Logistics and infrastructure for economic growth.”
“The world is undergoing a global socio-economic transformation. The configuration of international interaction is changing, and the mechanisms and tools of economic development that were relevant quite recently are now losing effectiveness. In accordance with global trends and national priorities, Russia is restructuring its economy, social sphere, and government administration. The Eastern Economic Forum program is traditionally designed to unite representatives of authorities, business, and the expert community to develop advanced solutions across all sectors. This year, it reflects important areas such as achieving technological sovereignty, developing international cooperation, forming a sustainable economic space, and other topics. I am convinced that the results of the work within the framework of the EEF will be the development of relevant solutions that will become part of Russia’s long-term development strategy and ensure leadership in all key directions,” emphasized Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee.
Within the track “Living and Working in the Far East,” the implementation of master plans for 25 cities in the Far East, construction of rental housing, demographic programs in the macroregion, development of science, and other topics will be discussed. Special attention will be paid to the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Far Eastern Federal District until 2030 with a forecast until 2036, which is currently being developed. Other topics include strengthening the teaching of engineering disciplines in schools, developing the system of additional professional education, enhancing the practical orientation of university programs to overcome the personnel shortage, as well as the system for training specialists for the field of public administration.
The block “Mechanisms for Attracting Private Investment” is dedicated to the economic development of the macroregion. Participants of the thematic sessions will discuss the formation of a new unified advanced development territory in the Far East, the introduction of “people’s” bonds and digital financial assets for financing regional projects, and the development of the Eastern Financial Center, as well as mechanisms for attracting capital to the entities through stock market instruments. Among the priorities are the prospects of the mining and processing industries and enhancing the tourist appeal of the Far East.
The sessions of the direction ‘Far East – the pole of international cooperation’ will focus on developing economic ties between Russian partners on the international stage and the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. Attention will be given to topics such as the development of Bolshoy Ussuriyskiy Island in cooperation with the Chinese side, the implementation of special administrative regimes to attract foreign companies to Russian jurisdiction, as well as the development of international commercial arbitration in the Asia-Pacific countries. Business dialogues are planned with entrepreneurs from China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Mongolia, Vietnam, and ASEAN countries.
Participants in the discussions within the track “Technologies of the Present and Future” will discuss topics such as the creation of data centers in the Far East, automation of production, implementation of unmanned transport, as well as digitalization in the field of public administration and interaction with government authorities.
The block “Logistics and Infrastructure for Economic Growth” will be dedicated to northern supply, the development of the industrial and transport framework of the Far East, and increasing the accessibility of flights. Topics include enhancing the macroregion’s energy independence, improving urban environment comfort, and other issues.
The VEF-2026 program will include the Creative Industries Forum, the youth forum “Day of the Future”, the international forum “Falcon Day”, the SME Forum, the APEC International Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education, and the conference “Crossroads of Civilizations: the Role of Transport Integration in the History of the Asia-Pacific Region.” Business program events are planned at the “Far East Street” exhibition venue. In particular, there will be an open plenary session on projects under the “Muravyov-Amursky 2030” program, a business game “Vladivostok-2050: designing the city of the future”, as well as platforms dedicated to the competition “Far East – Land of Adventures” and tourist products created in the macroregion.
