The capital helps medical workers not only prepare for the exam to obtain the status «Moscow doctor“, but also to develop professional skills. Every year, 70 percent of all city doctors participate in the advanced training program. Sergey Sobyanin spoke about this inin their blog.

“The heart of this system is the Personnel Center, opened in 2021

Department of Health Injury, which coordinates the work of dozens of training centers and residency programs. This is a world-class platform with no analogues in Russia,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

On an area of more than four thousand square meters, over 1,100 units of high-tech equipment are concentrated — from mannequins to the most complex simulators. For doctors, there are more than 170 training sessions and 70 advanced training programs — from specialized oncology courses to the development of management skills and communication ethics with patients.

By 2025, more than 50 thousand specialists will have trained at the Personnel Center.

Recognized leader in practical training —Medical Simulation Center of the Moscow Multidisciplinary Scientific and Clinical Center named after S.P. Botkin. It offers more than 300 programs in 60 medical specialties. The center has developed unique training programs for surgeons, oncologists, intensivists, and other specialists. Among them are the “Moscow School of Surgery,” “Ultrasound Navigation in Organ and Tissue Biopsy,” “Emergency Ultrasound Assessment of Urgent Patients (RUSH-Protocol),” “Special Course on Emergency Medical Skills Training in Field Conditions,” and many others.

Since 2015, more than 135 thousand specialists have been trained here.

A unique tool operates for specialists in the surgical profileInterdisciplinary training center for innovative surgical technologiesBased on City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after L.A. Vorokhobov. Its main distinction is the development of practical skills in an educational operating room, created following the model of the unique operating rooms of the Moscow City Spinal Neurosurgical Center. Every year, more than 450 specialists receive training in the training center under 20 specialized programs.

“Scientific research is also being conducted here. The team of the Moscow Spinal Center, within the framework of the Mayor of Moscow’s grant program, is developing innovative surgical treatment methods, the application of which allows shortening the recovery period for patients (Fast-track). From the moment of surgery until the removal of restrictions, the rehabilitation process takes only three to four weeks,” noted Sergey Sobyanin.

The creation of the training center became a logical continuation of many years of work by the cityCenter for Diagnostics and Telemedicine— the leading scientific and practical organization in the field of radiation diagnostics, artificial intelligence, and teleradiology of Moscow. Here they train doctors and mid-level medical personnel (X-ray technicians). Since 2016, additional professional education programs have been implemented at the training center; since 2023 — postgraduate training; in 2025, it obtained a license to train residents in the specialty “Radiology.”

Training in the center is a special form of interdisciplinary interaction, including in a remote electronic format. Many years of experience make it possible to provide future radiologists with up-to-date knowledge in all sections of the specialty. Analysis of real clinical cases is conducted with the participation of surgeons, oncologists, and traumatologists.

The center offers various educational programs — from hourly webinars and master classes to advanced training courses and residency and postgraduate preparation. Classes are held at convenient times and allow for studying without interrupting practical work. During the operation of the training center from 2016 to 2025, more than 160 thousand specialists have been trained.

Separate direction —preparation and continuous training of emergency ambulance specialists. Since 2017, the educational and organizational department has been operating at the A.S. Puchkov Emergency and Urgent Medical Care Station, where more than 3,500 medical professionals are trained annually.

A multi-level training system has been created for specialists of the mobile brigades. The training classrooms are equipped with modern simulators and equipment, which is completely identical to the equipment in real ambulances.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, dozens of programs are updated annually and new courses are developed. Special attention is given to the professional start of novices, for whom an adaptation and mentorship system has been implemented. Initially, graduates from universities and colleges work in pairs with a senior colleague, gaining experience and only then take internal exams.

Over five years, about a thousand young specialists from the Moscow ambulance service have participated in the program. In addition, instructors train social workers in Moscow and even students of medical classes in the basics of first aid. For example, more than two thousand school teachers have attended life-saving master classes since the beginning of this year.

“The Moscow professional growth system for doctors combines the resources of the largest simulation centers, highly technological hospital bases, and digital platforms. Doctors of all specialties have the opportunity to learn from the best and on the best equipment, acquiring the knowledge that will definitely be useful in daily practice,” added the Mayor of Moscow.

In the end, the winner is the patient who, turning to any Moscow clinic, can be confident: their life and health are in the hands of professionals.
