By the decision of the organizing committee of the VI Congress of Young Scientists, the dates and venue of the event have been changed. The Congress will bring together leading scientists, representatives of scientific and educational organizations, engineers, technological entrepreneurs, statesmen, and representatives of the business community on one platform.

“As our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said, the goal of the Congress of Young Scientists of the national project ‘Youth and Children’ is to create a platform for free communication and exchange of opinions, ideas, and establishing new contacts among people who want to engage in science. For the first time, leading domestic and foreign scientists will meet in Saint Petersburg, where the first Academy of Sciences in Russia was opened and traditions were born. I am confident that the congress participants will propose bold initiatives that meet the demands of the state and business, and the energy of young talents will grow into a real and powerful driver of the country’s scientific and technological sovereignty,” said Deputy Prime Minister, co-chairman of the coordinating committee for conducting the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko.

“The Congress of Young Scientists is a unique platform where a new core of personnel for Russian science is being formed. A lively exchange of ideas, an exhibition of advanced scientific developments, discussions on the most pressing topics — all this gives young scientists a deep understanding of the processes currently taking place in the scientific community, as well as introduces them to the opportunities available in the country for developing a career in science. The Congress of Young Scientists is designed to show that Russian science today is a dynamic, prestigious, and highly promising space where an ambitious scientist can fully realize their potential and work for the future of our country,” noted the assistant to the President of Russia, Andrey Fursenko.

“The congress and exhibition center ‘Expoforum’ in Saint Petersburg has been designated as the venue for the Young Scientists Congress in 2026. The congress will take place from December 2 to 4. This site will serve as a place for dialogue among science, government, and business on issues of scientific development, as well as the formulation and adjustment of state support measures for scientific activities. Annual meetings within the congress framework ensure fine-tuning of three-way interaction, allow real-time response to new challenges, support advanced development sectors, and implement new technologies into production chains. This provides confidence that Russian science remains strong and modern, forming the foundation of Russia’s strategic leadership in the world,” said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of Russia and head of the interdepartmental working group on preparation and conduct of the Young Scientists Congress and related events.

The Congress of Young Scientists is a key annual event of the Decade of Science and Technology, declared by President Vladimir Putin in 2022. The Congress serves as the largest platform for dialogue between advanced and fundamental science, government authorities, and the real sector of the economy, and sets the main directions for scientific and technological development. One of its key tasks remains the engagement of talented youth and young researchers and entrepreneurs in the scientific and technological field.

In 2025, the congress demonstrated a record level of international participation, gathering over 8,000 participants from 89 regions of Russia and 100 foreign countries. The congress agenda, in addition to the traditional format of discussions on scientific development issues, included lectures, master classes, scientific battles, film screenings, and intellectual games. The exhibition of advanced scientific achievements at the congress venue provided an opportunity for leading scientific organizations, technology companies, and entrepreneurs to showcase scientific developments addressing current challenges.

The organizer of the Congress of Young Scientists is the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in Science and Education under the Presidential Council for Science and Education. The operator of the Decade of Science and Technology is the autonomous non-profit organization “National Priorities.”
