Beijing, July 28 /Xinhua/ — The development of normal interstate relations and cooperation should not be directed against any third party, said Lin Jian, an official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, on Tuesday.

At a recent press conference, the Chinese diplomat commented, at the request of journalists, on reports that the United States plans to invest hundreds of millions of dollars to counter China’s growing influence in America, Africa, and Asia.

Noting that China has always opposed the creation of closed and exclusive “narrow circles,” Lin Jian said that China’s cooperation with other countries and regions, especially developing ones, is not aimed at attracting anyone to its side or fighting against anyone, but is focused on jointly protecting world peace, promoting global development, maintaining the international order, and jointly building a community with a shared future for mankind. -0-
