Tashkent, July 24 /Xinhua/ — In Uzbekistan, 7 billion kWh of green electricity was produced in the first seven months of this year. This is 23 percent more compared to the same period last year. The press service of the country’s Ministry of Energy reported this on Friday.

As noted in the report, over the past four years and up to today, a total of more than 23.4 billion kWh of green electricity has been produced, which has saved about 6.24 billion cubic meters of natural gas and prevented the emission of approximately 13.46 million tons of harmful gases into the atmosphere.

Uzbekistan plans to increase the share of green energy in the total electricity generation to more than 50 percent by 2030 –0–
