Chongqing, July 24 /Xinhua/ — The bodies of three more victims were found at the site of a landslide in Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County in the centrally administered city of Chongqing /Southwest China/. This was reported on Friday by local rescue services.

As noted, the rescuers conducted a series of targeted explosions to reduce the risks posed by large boulders and the threat of possible secondary disasters, which allowed for the expansion of several search zones. Professional rescue teams and heavy construction equipment are working around the clock. As of 10:00 PM on Friday, three more fatalities were discovered; the search and rescue operation continues.

The disaster caused by heavy rains occurred on July 17 at 09:08, as a result of which more than 10 residential houses were buried under the mountain rock. –0–
