Modern “Ivolga 4.0” trains operating on the Yaroslavl route have covered over 1.2 million kilometers with passengers since the start of their service. This is almost 30 times the length of the Earth’s equator.
A large-scale renewal of rolling stock on the Yaroslavl route began in June 2025. Since then, the number of modern trains on the line continues to grow.
In 2025, 15 Ivolga 4.0 trains operated on the routes, covering a total of over 260 thousand kilometers. Since the beginning of 2026, the fleet has been increased to 25 trains, and their total mileage has grown by another 1 million kilometers.
Today, more than 300,000 trips are made daily on the Yaroslavl direction. Jointly with CPPC, JSC “Russian Railways,” and TMH, a phased replacement of outdated rolling stock with modern trains is underway to make passenger journeys even more comfortable.
“In 1 year since the start of large-scale work on replacing the rolling stock on the Yaroslavl direction, we have updated more than 30% of the fleet. Today, passengers are carried by 30 modern trains: 25 ‘Ivolga 4.0’ and 5 modified EP2DM trains. Compared to outdated trains, they feature ergonomic seats, climate control systems, and smooth rides. By the instruction of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, we plan to completely renew the rolling stock on the Yaroslavl direction by the end of 2030. In total, we will deliver about 90 modern trains,” said Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
