Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak held a working meeting with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the fuel and energy sectors. “The partnership between Russia and Turkey in the energy sector is truly strategic. Against the backdrop of turbulent situations in the region and the world at large, cooperation in the energy industry acquires special significance. Russia has been and remains a reliable supplier of gas, oil, and other natural resources to the Turkish market. The ‘Turkish Stream’ and ‘Blue Stream’ pipelines operate steadily, the state corporation ‘Rosatom’ continues the construction of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, ‘Akkuyu,’ effectively creating a new nuclear energy sector within the republic,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Alexander Novak invited Alparslan Bayraktar to participate in the business program of the “Russian Energy Week” forum, which will be held in Moscow from October 14 to 16, 2026.
