Manila, July 22 /Xinhua/ — Relations between China and Brunei have become a model of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation between large and small countries. This was stated on Wednesday by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wan Yi, who is also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made a corresponding statement during a meeting with Brunei’s Foreign Minister, Prince Abdul Matin Bolkiah.
As noted by the head of the Chinese MFA, China is ready to jointly implement the important agreements reached by the heads of the two states with Brunei, deepen cooperation in the sectors of economy, trade, energy, and artificial intelligence, promote joint development of marine resources, and facilitate new outcomes of practical cooperation between the two countries.
Prince Abdul Mateen, in turn, stated that China is Brunei’s most reliable friend as well as its largest trade and investment partner. According to the prince, Brunei attaches great importance to cooperation with the PRC.
The Foreign Minister of Brunei also noted that his country firmly adheres to the One China principle and is ready to jointly strengthen strategic cooperation and partnership relations with the Chinese side, activate high-level contacts, and enhance exchanges and cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, artificial intelligence, and cultural and humanitarian ties. –0–
