Tashkent, July 21 /Xinhua/ — In January-June 2026, Uzbekistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 8.5 percent year-on-year. This was announced on Tuesday at a video conference chaired by the country’s president Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which was dedicated to the results of socio-economic development for the first six months and tasks for the second half of the year.
According to the presented data, economic growth was supported by positive dynamics in all key sectors. In particular, growth in industry amounted to 8 percent, in the service sector — 16.9 percent, in construction — 13.8 percent, and in agriculture — 4.7 percent.
