Beijing, April 8 /Xinhua/ — PLA Chairman Xi Jinping on Wednesday called for efforts to deepen political order and training in the armed forces to preserve the purity and glory of the people’s army.
Si Zhenping, who is also the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an appropriate speech on Wednesday at the opening ceremony of a training course for senior cadres of the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA) at the PLA National Defense University in Beijing.
The Chinese leader called to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the army, which will be marked in 2027, with a new political appearance.
Emphasizing that the cohesion of the party and the armed forces is based on ideals and convictions, Si Zhinpin noted that joining the party and the army presupposes a sincere belief in Marxism and dedication to the party’s convictions, its organization, and its cause. According to him, high-level personnel workers must set an example by strictly observing the rules of intra-party political life and in the ability to speak the truth.
Any selfish and corrupt thoughts and actions are incompatible with the nature and main goals of the party, indicated Xi Jinping.
As he noted, high-ranking personnel must serve as an example in the restoration and development of glorious party and military traditions, discard bureaucratic arrogance, and return to the true image of revolutionary warriors.
Si Jinping reminded that everyone is equal before the law, compliance with laws and regulations does not imply exceptions, and their enforcement does not allow exclusions.
Relying on unprecedented cohesion in new historical conditions, the people’s army will definitely be able to write a new chapter in the history of strengthening and flourishing of the armed forces,’ concluded the Chinese leader.
The opening ceremony of the training course was conducted by the Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Council, Zhang Shenmin.
