21 project from students of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University was recognized as a winner of the federal competition “Student Startup” of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations. Each of them will receive a grant of 1 million rubles for further development.

Most of the projects belong to the “Digital Technologies” direction. Three of them — a web application with a voice interface for accessing BIM models and field control at construction sites, a predictive analytics platform for manufacturing processes based on graph data models and machine learning, and an intelligent marketplace of structured datasets based on a decentralized knowledge graph and LLM consolidation — scored the highest number of points and will receive additional bonuses from Sberbank: tokens for GigaChat models and embeddings for working with AI tools.

  • A system for extracting, aggregating, and storing corporate knowledge with convenient navigation;
  • software for parametric generation of 3D models of toroidal propellers for UAVs;
  • program for selecting equipment and calculating investment projects for technological productions;
  • a system for predictive maintenance of vehicles based on operational data and machine learning models;
  • Computer vision-based software for analyzing master plans of oil and gas facilities and extracting parameters of structures;
  • online platform for managing unmanned aerial systems and processing aerial photodata in precision agriculture;
  • a plugin for automating code writing based on text descriptions in the 1C:Enterprise development environment.

The developments will enable faster and more accurate design, maintenance, and modernization of facilities, simplify the work of engineers and analysts, and provide businesses with new tools for digital transformation.

In the area of “New instruments and intelligent production technologies,” polytechnicians are working on solutions for urban infrastructure, transportation, shipbuilding, and high-precision equipment.

Startup ideas:

  • device for cleaning shoe soles at the entrance to rooms;
  • controllable-pitch propellers;
  • spatial coordinate positioner;
  • algorithm for optimizing ion implantation modes of silicon;
  • telemetry for analyzing the dynamics of vehicle movement in motorsport.

In medicine and health preservation technologies, startups focused on patient rehabilitation, air quality, and home therapy monitoring have prevailed:

  • software and hardware sonification system for prosthesis control training;
  • a backpack with a built-in forced supply system of purified air;
  • a remote monitoring system for CPAP therapy in patients with sleep-disordered breathing.

In the “Creative Industries” block, support was given to a board game with an electronic interactive field — a combination of the classic game format and digital technologies.

In the “Biotechnology” category, the winning project was the development of a technology for producing construction biomaterials using a consortium of rhizosphere microorganisms, which opens up new options for sustainable materials in the construction industry.

The fund also approved a list of applications that will be able to receive grants if additional funds become available. It included four projects from polytechnic students: the “Honest Freelance” platform, a digital platform to increase accessibility and regularity of racket sports training, a web platform for analyzing stock market data with anomaly detection based on machine learning, and the “Active Search Probe.” These initiatives are related to digital labor market security, the development of mass sports, financial data analysis, and the creation of new measuring devices.

The Polytechnic University plans to provide teams with organizational support, mentoring, and access to research infrastructure to strengthen the scientific component of startups and accelerate their path to market.

The “Student Startup” competition is organized by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises within the framework of the federal project “Technologies” and the University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform. Applications are accepted in seven areas: digital technologies, medicine and health-saving technologies, chemical technologies and new materials, new instruments and intelligent production technologies, biotechnology, resource-saving energy, creative industries.
