The government is creating a permanent subcommittee on the development of digital platforms. The corresponding decree has been signed. Its membership will include representatives of federal executive authorities overseeing specialized issues of digital platform development. The specific list of participants will be approved by a separate order. The main task of the subcommittee will be to develop strategic approaches to the development of the platform economy and the improvement of state regulation in this area.

“The platform economy is a dynamic and technological sector that is developing very rapidly. In this regard, regulation must keep pace with the implementation of innovations while supporting the development of the industry. Currently, together with interested agencies, we are preparing for the entry into force of the law on the platform economy. In the future, we will analyze the practice of its application and make changes if necessary. This work will take place on the platform of the headquarters,” commented Deputy Prime Minister – Head of the Government Office Dmitry Grigorenko.

To date, the Government Office has received a number of initiatives for the further development of platform economy regulation. The subcommission will review each proposal, form a unified interdepartmental position on them, and prepare a package of legislative initiatives for subsequent submission to the State Duma.

Recall that the law on the platform economy comes into force on October 1, 2026. The Ministry of Economic Development has already formed a preliminary list of digital intermediation platforms to which the provisions of the law will apply.
