Minsk, April 8 /Xin Hua/ — Since the beginning of 2026, about 2.6 billion US dollars of direct foreign investments have entered Minsk’s economy — 65.4 percent of the total volume in Belarus. This was reported by the first deputy chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Aleksandr Komendant. The corresponding information was published on Wednesday by the magazine “Economics of Belarus.”

As noted by the first deputy chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, a favorable investment climate has been formed in the Belarusian capital, with preferential regimes created, such as the free economic zone “Minsk,” scientific and technological parks, and the High Technologies Park.

“In Minsk, capitals from more than 80 countries flow in. Since the beginning of the year, 2.8 billion US dollars of foreign investment have already been received into the city’s economy, of which about 2.6 billion US dollars are direct investments — this is 65.4% of the total volume in the republic,” emphasized A. Komendant.

According to him, a significant amount of funds is attracted by the financial sector, the service sector, and industry. Investors put money into infrastructure, including social infrastructure, business and shopping-entertainment centers, hotels, cafes, restaurants, and production facilities.
