Beijing, July 21 /Xinhua/ — The China Coast Guard (CCG) has urged the Philippines to immediately cease violations, provocations, and unwarranted fuss after Filipino personnel from an illegally grounded vessel aggressively attacked a small CCG patrol boat near China’s Ren’ai Reef on Monday.
According to the PNP statement, around 9:00 a.m., two rubber boats from the Philippine vessel LT-57, which was illegally grounded, approached the PNP patrol boat at a dangerous speed and rammed it despite repeated clear warnings.
During the incident, the Philippine side also maliciously struck Chinese law enforcement officers with paddles, long poles, and other tools, the China Coast Guard reported.
