Dushanbe, July 20 /Xinhua/ — The real growth of Tajikistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first six months of 2026 amounted to 8.2 percent. This was reported on Monday by the Khovar news agency, citing Tajikistan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurakhmon Abdurakhmonzoda.
According to the minister, the country’s GDP in January-June reached 81.7 billion somoni /about 8.8 billion US dollars/, which is 10.8 billion somoni more compared to the same period last year.
“Despite the negative impact of global and regional processes, it was possible to ensure sustainable growth of the national economy during the reporting period,” noted A. Abdurakhmondzoda.
The main drivers of economic growth were an increase in industrial production by 14.1 percent, agricultural production by 7.2 percent, the volume of paid services by 10.6 percent, investments in fixed capital by 18.4 percent, trade turnover by 26.1 percent, freight transportation by 14.7 percent, and passenger transportation by 8 percent. –0–
