Harbin, July 20 /Xinhua/ — Last Saturday, a special China-Russia concert was held in the city of Hegang, Heilongjiang Province /Northeast China/, attended by more than a thousand local residents.
At the concert, a creative group from the Russian city of Khabarovsk performed. The event’s program combines motifs of traditional Russian folklore with the charm of contemporary art. It included performances by a choir, dance groups, as well as saxophone solos and energetic modern dances. In particular, the opening notes of the classic song “Moscow Nights” evoked an explosion of applause from the audience.
The concert was jointly organized by the People’s Government of Xin’an District in Hegang City and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Hegang City. According to the organizers, the event not only allowed the residents of Hegang City to get closer to the unique charm of Russian culture, but also deepened the exchanges and cooperation between Hegang City and the Russian Far East in culture and tourism, giving new impetus to the mutual enrichment of cultures and strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of the regions of the two countries. -0-
