On July 20, applications opened for the award of the badge “Volunteer of Russia.” Documents are accepted until August 19 inclusive. The award recognizes citizens for significant contributions to volunteer activities, heroic acts, as well as for the development of blood donation.

The procedure for encouraging and awarding volunteer activities with the badge “Volunteer of Russia” was approved by a decree of the Government of Russia.

“The noble traditions of mercy, helping those in need of care and compassion have always been part of our people’s character. These are the words of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Today, nearly 10 million volunteers have united into a single movement on the Dobro.RF platform. And this number grows every day. Special attention is given to involving young people in volunteer and social activities within the national project ‘Youth and Children.’ The badge ‘Volunteer of Russia’ is a symbol of recognition for those who give their most valuable resource – time. Its recipients are the main driving force of volunteering, people who inspire those around them to creative work. I invite everyone to submit applications and wish success!” – stated Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Federal and regional authorities, as well as organizations, submit nominations for awards to the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. Individuals wishing to put forward their candidacy can apply personally to the regional youth affairs authority for subsequent forwarding to Rosmolodezh. Mandatory documents include the award nomination form, a copy of the passport, consent to the processing of personal data, and a certificate of no criminal record.

“The interest of Russians in volunteering continues to grow. Various categories of citizens are joining the volunteer community: teenagers, students, entrepreneurs, the older generation. Volunteers help people in difficult life situations, work in emergency zones, support participants of the special military operation and their families, and go on humanitarian missions to Donbass and Novorossiya. The ‘Volunteer of Russia’ award is an opportunity to thank people at the state level who, following their hearts, perform good deeds, showing mercy and compassion, fostering a culture of constructive work among children and youth, and confirming their social activity in civil society through concrete actions,” noted the head of Rosmolodezh, Grigory Gurov.

Volunteers who have made a significant contribution to volunteer activities in Russia and have accumulated at least 500 volunteer hours on Dobro.RF over the past three years, or individuals who have performed a heroic act within volunteer activities, may be eligible to receive the Volunteer of Russia chest badge. In addition, donors (blood, plasma, bone marrow) with extensive donation experience and those who promote the development of bone marrow or stem cell donation can also be nominated for this chest badge award.

“The chest badge ‘Volunteer of Russia’ was established by the Government as part of the updated federal law on support for volunteering. Every year, it is awarded to the most active volunteers in the country — both at the federal level and in the regions. The award emphasizes the value of the volunteer movement and recognizes the individual’s merits at the highest level,” said Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy and head of the Dobro.RF ecosystem.

For the first time, the breast badge “Volunteer of Russia” was awarded in 2025. The badges were presented to the laureates by Deputy Prime Ministers Dmitry Chernyshenko and Tatyana Golikova, Head of the Presidential Directorate for Public Projects Sergey Novikov, Head of Rosmolodezh Grigory Gurov, and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, head of the “Dobro.RF” ecosystem Artem Metelev.
