Tehran, July 18 /Xinhua/ — Iran has ceased fulfilling its commitments under the peaceful memorandum of understanding with the United States, as Washington violated its obligations under the agreement. This was stated on Saturday by Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs.

In an interview with the state television channel IRIB TV, K. Garibabadi stated that the United States has effectively violated or suspended “all its commitments” under the memorandum. He noted that Iran is currently focused on self-defense, and “there is no news about negotiations.”

“Right now, the only path before us is a resolute defense of the country,” emphasized the Iranian diplomat. “And this time, the Americans have already received their response: these aggressive actions will lead to nothing. If they are wise, they should choose other methods,” he indicated.
