Tbilisi, July 16 /Xinhua/ — Today, Georgia and Turkmenistan are stable and reliable trade partners. In 2025, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 26 percent and exceeded 100 million US dollars. This was stated on Thursday by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, while speaking at the Georgian-Turkmen business forum.

The head of the Georgian government noted that the positive dynamics of bilateral trade continue in the current year. At the same time, according to him, trade and economic relations between Georgia and Turkmenistan do not yet fully reflect the existing potential, which is why joint efforts are necessary to expand cooperation, develop business ties, and make fuller use of partnership opportunities.

As I. Kobakhidze emphasized, Turkmen business is already actively represented in Georgia, with companies with Turkmen capital operating in the fields of transport and logistics, construction, agriculture, and real estate in the country, which creates a solid foundation for further development of economic cooperation.

The Georgian-Turkmen business forum took place in Tbilisi as part of the state visit of Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Georgia. –0–
