Beijing, July 16 /Xinhua/ — China will timely adjust export control measures on helium depending on changes in demand and supply both domestically and abroad, said He Yadong, official spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce of China, at a regular press conference on Thursday.

He Yadun noted that China is a major importer of helium, and to ensure domestic supply, the country decided to impose a temporary ban on helium exports.

According to him, the ban, which came into effect last Friday, was introduced in accordance with the PRC Foreign Trade Law and World Trade Organization rules. -0-
