Beijing, July 16 /Xinhua/ — Prosecutor’s offices across China charged 14,000 people with crimes related to the performance of official duties in the first half of 2026, an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) of China announced on Thursday.
According to data published by the UNP, during the specified period, 1,410 people were charged with crimes related to bribery.
In the first six months of this year, prosecutors across the country have charged 58,000 people with crimes related to violations of the market economy order.
According to Chinese National Bureau of Statistics data, prosecutorial authorities have charged 4,435 individuals with smuggling strategic minerals and 7,500 with crimes related to violations of intellectual property rights.
They have also intensified the fight against crimes in the financial and securities sectors, charging 13,000 people from January to June of this year for financial fraud and violations of financial management rules. -0-
