Beijing, July 16 /Xinhua/ — Recently, an event to promote the development of air communication between China and Russia was held in the city of Harbin /administrative center of Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China/, reported the Chinese daily newspaper “Heilongjiang Daily.”
This event, organized by the Heilongjiang Airport Management Corporation with the support of the provincial Department of Transportation, aims to leverage the geographical advantages related to proximity to Russia, as well as the advantages of the Heilongjiang province’s checkpoint and aviation hub, with the goal of creating a platform for exchanges between the government and enterprises, interaction between supply and demand, and to promote the implementation of projects.
The purpose of the event is also to promote the creation of a new platform for China’s openness toward the north and to transform the Harbin international aviation hub into a bilateral aviation center connecting Russia with various regions of China, as well as different areas of China with the Russian Federation, especially its Far East.
More than 80 representatives from over 40 organizations participated in the aforementioned event, including the competent civil aviation authority of China, joint inspection departments at checkpoints, leading Chinese airlines, cultural tourism operators, as well as agencies of local Russian governments and cross-border trade-economic and cultural-tourism companies.
The event included four sections: thematic exchanges, signing of strategic cooperation agreements, promotion of cultural tourism resources, and business negotiations.
At the event, competent authorities from sectors such as transport and civil aviation, as well as representatives of Chinese and Russian aviation enterprises, shared experiences and discussed developments in key areas such as enhancing the capacity of aviation hubs, optimizing the airline network, increasing air traffic, and constructing the transit system.
The participants of the event signed a number of cooperation intent agreements and reached a consensus on strengthening interaction in areas such as the opening of new cross-border air routes, increasing the number of flights on existing routes, deepening the integration of tourism and the air transportation industry, expanding cargo air transportation channels, and more.
In addition, the departments of culture and tourism of China and Russia have promoted tourism resources and thoroughly explored the potential integration of “aviation + cross-border cultural tourism” with the aim of forming a new development architecture characterized by stimulating tourism growth through the expansion of air transportation, facilitating trade through tourism, and the integrated development of trade and tourism. -0-
