Washington, July 14 /Xinhua/ — The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) on Tuesday announced the resumption of the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
“Today at 4:00 PM Eastern Time, US forces resumed the maritime blockade of vessels heading to or departing from Iranian ports and coastal areas,” the command stated in a message on the social network X.
“Currently, more than 20 U.S. Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft are deployed in the Middle East. American forces maintain vigilance, lethality, and combat readiness,” the statement says.
According to CENTCOM, an hour before the resumption of the strait blockade, American forces launched another series of strikes on Iranian targets.
Earlier on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all vessels except Iranian ones.
