Nine projects by scientists from the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University received support from the Russian Science Foundation following the results of the 2026 competitions. Four projects won in the competition for initiative research by young scientists, three — in the competition for research by scientific groups led by young scientists, and two more projects had their execution terms extended.
As a result of the competitive selection of research initiatives by young scientists, 414 projects will receive support. Grants are allocated for conducting scientific research in 2026–2028.
Among the polytechnic winners of the competition:
- Elizaveta Kolesnik (PhysMech) with the project “Numerical study of bifurcation phenomena in supersonic flows of a viscous gas” (No. 26-79-00129);
- Andrey Stabnikov (PISH) with the project “Development of an algebraic model of laminar-turbulent transition caused by transverse flow instability” (No. 26-71-00053);
- Alexandra Sagaidak (IBSiB) with the project “Development and evaluation of the efficiency of a new method for delivering low-molecular modulators of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activity in the fight against tumor diseases” (No. 26-75-00094);
- Maxim Novikov (GI) with the project “Economic Behavior and Behavioral Economics in the Postwar USSR (1945 — 1965): State Policy and Public Attitude” (No. 26-78-00049).
As a result of the project review led by young scientists, 348 studies have been supported, including:
- Alexander Yerofeev (IBSiB) with the project “Electrophysiological Mechanisms of Compensatory Plasticity: Searching for Targets to Restore Synaptic Function in Early Neurodegeneration” (No. 26-74-10015);
- Evgeny Kotov (PISH) with the project “Technologies for creating new recipe formulations of mixtures for fibrous aerated concrete with specified properties and operational characteristics” (No. 26-79-10273);
- Marina Zasimova (PhysMech) with the project “Study of unsteady aerodynamics and heat and mass transfer during the movement of vortex structures formed by an impulsive turbulent jet” (No. 6-79-10068).
In the competition of projects led by young scientists, the extension of project deadlines was supported by 105 studies. Two polytechnic researchers also received grant support based on the results of the review:
- Alisa Dubgorn (IPME&T) with the project “Modeling of Digital and Logistic Infrastructure in the Interests of Sustainable Development of the Arctic” (No. 23-78-10190-P);
- Nikolay Ushakov (IEiT) with the project “Spectral interferometric platform for multimodal biomedical endoscopic diagnostic systems based on optical coherence tomography and fiber-optic sensors” (No. 23-72-10095-P).
