Deputy Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Tom Fletcher warned about the potential consequences of the return of the El Niño climate phenomenon. According to Fletcher, extreme heat, droughts, and floods once again threaten millions of people in several regions of the world. The UN is ready to allocate up to 100 million dollars from the Central Emergency Response Fund to prepare in advance for the impacts of this climate phenomenon.
