Specialists from the Ufa design institute of Rosneft have improved the RN-SMT field pipeline monitoring system. The program tracks the condition of over 70,000 kilometers of pipelines across all the Company’s production assets.

The system contains complete information about each object: from the design and the routing of the installation to the repair history, the composition of the pumped medium, and the moments of decommissioning.

The updated software automatically assesses the reliability of each section daily and generates a list of objects that require attention. The system independently determines the priority of repairing individual sections or recommends replacing the entire pipeline based on technical and economic feasibility indicators.

The process is built as a single digital loop: data from sensors enter the Company’s technological network and are immediately integrated into the “RN-SMT”. The software complex performs automatic calculation of pipeline throughput and promptly assesses risks. Specialized experts use this data daily to analyze pipeline load and condition, making informed decisions about infrastructure operation.

The development of digital tools enables Rosneft to systematically enhance the reliability of its infrastructure, reduce technological risks, and ensure the stable operation of production assets.
