Beijing, July 14 /Xinhua/ — The National Development and Reform Commission of China announced on Monday the allocation of 30 million yuan /about 4.4 million US dollars/ from the central budget to Hebei Province /Northern China/, which was affected by heavy rains and floods, to support emergency recovery efforts.
The funds will primarily be used for the urgent restoration of damaged infrastructure, including roads, as well as public service facilities such as schools, to help return production and daily life to normal as soon as possible in the affected areas, the agency said.
The State Committee for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation of Their Consequences, and Assistance to Victims activated the national emergency response mechanism for disasters at level 4 on Monday. -0-
