In the city of Nanning in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, employees of the living museum of intangible cultural heritage are producing cultural and creative products using Zhuang brocade (photo taken on June 23).

Zhuang brocade is a symbolic cultural heritage of Guangxi. In 2006, the traditional technique of making Zhuang brocade was included in the first national list of intangible cultural heritage of China. Local craftsmen carefully preserve the ancient weaving methods and at the same time continue to introduce innovations in ornament design and creative product development. They create products that combine rich cultural content and modern aesthetics, which are in demand both in domestic and overseas markets, allowing this millennia-old craft to gain new life.
