Moscow, July 13 /Xinhua/ — Russia’s trade surplus for January-May 2026 amounted to 59.1 billion US dollars, an increase of 9.4 percent compared to the same period last year. This is evidenced by data published on Monday by the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.
The country’s exports for the specified period increased by 8.5% to 177.4 billion dollars. Imports rose by 8.1% to 118.3 billion dollars. In particular, exports to Asian countries, which account for the main share of Russia’s trade turnover, increased by 14.5%, while imports from countries on this continent rose by 8.8%.
The largest part of Russian exports, namely 54.2 percent of its total volume, traditionally consisted of mineral products in January-May. In the commodity structure of imports, machines, equipment, and transport vehicles accounted for 48.6 percent. –0–
